Photograph “Hugel Mounds and Swale” is and image of mounds of dirt surrounded by stones, a ditch curves to surround the mounds, and all is surrounded by field, trees, and sky. One stake central to all stands alone. This is a practice in permaculture hardscaping earth with hügelkultur, in an attempt to absorb water and provide food for future life. The swale is a water harvesting earth hardscaping technique, with sloping field to capture run off of rain. All is in preparations to demonstrate the connections and interwoven elements of life. To be part of a regenerative system that include the land, the rain, underlying structures, and me.
